We need to increase advanced trade classes in schools particularly for young people who have no plans to go to college. In their junior year of high school they can attend school in the morning and work in the afternoon with a master tradesman towards completing an apprenticeship. When starting at age 16, a complete internship can be completed by their early twenties.
All New Yorkers should be able to attend public colleges for free, for part-time and full-time programs and for both undergraduate and graduate studies.
Having highly skilled college graduates and a trades workforce will encourage companies to move or startup in New York; many of these college graduates and trades-persons will start their businesses of their own.
